Don Spies
Director of Market Development, Chainalysis
Don Spies is the Director of Market Development for Chainalysis where he provides solutions for cryptocurrency businesses, financial institutions, and government agencies. He joined Chainalysis in September 2020 and works with federal agencies numerous cryptocurrency topics. Prior to this role, Don held roles at The U.S. Department of the Treasury as the lead for the Cyber Information Group (CIG) in the Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection (OCCIP) and as the Director of The Intelligence Operations Center (IOC) in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis. Don spent 13 years as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves as both an Enlisted Soldier and as an Officer, deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2011-2012. Don has a Bachelor's Degree in Cartography/GIS from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Master of Strategic Intelligence from The American Military University, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from The Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University.
