"A data fiduciary must ensure that data is deleted when the purpose is over and when data is maintained on its database and that it is maintained accurately without corruption and not allowed to be breached by external agencies," Srikrishna says of the proposed requirements.

Srikrishna is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India. He was appointed chairperson of the Committee of Experts of Data Protection Framework for India to identify key data protection issues in India and recommend methods of addressing them. He also serves as chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Individual Insolvency & Bankruptcy.
