Tole said incident response offers unique opportunities for skills transfer. "An incident response program has many things tied to it - root cause analysis, containment, etc. In order to make people aware of all aspects, I keep rotating people in various roles," he said. "I keep moving people between vulnerability management, threat hunting and incident response. This has often helped the teams come out with unique solutions to solve a problem."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at ISMG's Dynamic CISO Excellence Awards and Conference, Tole discusses:

  • How to overcome monotony in the workplace;
  • Ways to upskill team members;
  • The right strategy for creating a skills development program.

Tole, who leads cybersecurity at Cyient, has adopted a strategic approach to identify and address potential security threats.
