As the threat landscape changes, security has evolved into a key business consideration with people at its core, said Microsoft's director of cloud security architecture, Suraj Jayaraman.

Organizations make most of their investments by getting the security culture right, he said. "Despite having fancy products and very good solutions, unless the people who are a part of the organization don't have the culture of putting security first, it's going to be an uphill task," he said.

In this video interview conducted at Information Security Media Group's Bengaluru Cybersecurity Summit, Jayaraman also discussed:

  • The most urgent threats on the horizon;
  • Lessons learned in incident response;
  • Ways to make the most of your security investments.

Over the past two decades, Jayaraman has focused on technical sales, application development, infrastructure deployment and project management at Microsoft. He previously served as an IT analyst at Tata Consultancy Services.
