"Cloud providers have more modern security capabilities than traditional on-premises solutions. Still, enterprises are reluctant to move to the cloud because they are concerned about the infrastructure and data security that cloud vendors are going to offer," says Deepak Prasad, customer engineer, security specialist at Google Cloud.

"Another challenge is bringing the traditional security controls to work in cloud architecture. This mainly happens to meet security compliance requirements that haven been written for traditional security and not for the cloud," says Prasad.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group previewing an upcoming virtual executive roundtable, Prasad also discusses:

  • How to make cloud adoption smooth amid changing regulations;
  • Top considerations for digital transformation;
  • Why cloud adoption continues to be slow.

Prasad is a customer engineer, security specialist at Google Cloud. He has over 20 years of multicultural and diversified experience in cloud computing, information security, IAM, practice development, pre-sales, solution architecting and cloud security solutions.
